What have we been learning this week? WC 2.07.18

Another glorious week inside and out of the classroom!

In English this week, the children have completed their own versions of the story, ‘The Egg’. Their writing really has been wonderful and they have worked hard to edit and improve their work.

In Maths, we have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes. The children have been discussing their features and completing problem solving and reasoning questions linked to this. The children have also constructed a variety of 3D shapes from nets.

In Science we have continued to make observations and recordings of the investigations we started last week. Most of the plants that we were experimenting with have withered as they are not in the conditions that they need to thrive as most of us had predicted. We will continue to monitor them until next week!

The children were all assessed during the swimming sessions and will be receiving distance certificates before the end of term. Great effort by all!

We have started planning and making the frames for our planters this week using wooden dowels, lolly pop sticks and the hot-glue guns. The children enjoyed measuring and carefully cutting the wood down to size using hacksaws and vices.

We finished the week with a super drama session linked to confidence building delivered by the very talented Rebecca Loudonsack from ‘Say Two Productions LTD’. Thank you so much to Rebecca for coming in and providing the children with such a memorable experience!

We also thoroughly enjoyed this year’s, ‘St Teresa’s Got Talent’ show. Well done to all the children who auditioned and performed – you are all truly talented and we are very lucky to have you at our school!

Have a wonderful weekend in the sunshine and let’s keep our fingers crossed for another England win!
