Week Commencing - 14.1.19
Our topic this term is, 'Oh I do Like To Be Beside The Seaside'
In our RE lessons, the children have been focusing on the theme - mission and considering how Isaiah and Jesus were similar. They have also looked at the gospel by Luke and considered links between Isaiah, Jesus and the words of Luke. Year 5 enjoyed listening to a hymn by John Burland and made links between that and the words of Isaiah.
In English, we have started the novel, 'Letters from the Lighthouse' by the incredible author Emma Carroll. I think it is safe to say we have all the children hooked already. We have been working hard this week to improve direct speech, justifying our opinions and
In Maths, Year 6 started the week by finishing off their work on position and direction, by looking at transformations and then moved onto perimeter and area of rectangles and triangles.
Year 5 have been learning all about fractions; focusing on ordering and comparing and adding fractions together.
Our Science learning has been deciding how to separate different mixtures, using a variety of tools to support them. They had to separate; flour, rice and pasta and sugar and water.
PE - we have been learning basic shoots in Tennis and working on different balances for Gymnastics. Please ensure all children have their both PE kits in school next week.
