Visit from Mrs Flood 1st February 2019 1
Our class Governor, Mrs Flood came to visit us on Friday, after our assembly. It was lovely to meet her and the children asked some very informative questions, as well as some social questions. The children enjoyed finding out more about the role as a Governor at St Teresa's School.

Week Commencing -  18.3.19

Our topic this term is, 'Oh I do Like To Be Beside The Seaside'

Remember-Lent is a time for; fasting, almsgiving and prayer.

In our RE this week, the children thought about temptation they have felt within their lives and considered how Jesus felt in the desert being tempted by the devil.

We then listened to scripture about the betrayal of Jesus by Judas Iscariot - the children then reflected on this when producing a diary entry as Judas, considering his thoughts and feelings.

Our final lesson, was all about the arrest of Jesus. We explored three paintings depicting 'The Agony in the Garden' and the children thought about the symbols used within the paintings.

In English, the children have been enjoying watching the clip, 'Lighthouse', learning how to use figurative language within their writing and varying the sentence openers they use, resulting in some excellent paragraphs being produced.

In Maths, Year 6 have continued working on algebra and so far, we are all doing great!

Year 5 have been focusing on; fractions, decimals, percentages.

PE - we have been developing our Netball skills and during indoor PE we have explored exercises to increase our heart rate - with a cross-curricular link to our Science learning.
