Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
As part of our transition programme there will be a short talk for Year 2 children moving to Year 3. The talk is aimed at the children and will be led by Mrs. Hawitt (Key Stage 2 Leader). The children will receive a leaflet, to remind them over the summer, about all the things they will need to know ready for September. After the talk, the children will then spend the rest of the morning with their new teacher. We would very much like to invite you to the Induction talk, which will take place at 9:00am on Tuesday 15th July, in the school hall. If you are unable to attend, your child will bring the leaflet home and you will be able to discuss it with them. We will also make the PowerPoint available on the school website.

St Teresa’s Summer Gala
Friday 4th July 2025 5pm – 7.30pm

This year, we hope to raise even more, which will go towards building our new Forest School outdoor area. We’re planning a fun-filled evening with lots of games, a BBQ, bar, pizzas, pony rides, ice cream, worm charming, and much more!
Help on the day
We really need volunteers for the Summer Gala. Could you help set up straight after school? Help run a stall? Stay and help tidy up afterwards. We’ve got a list of really fun stalls we’d love to run—but we can’t do it without enough volunteers. If you can spare 30 minutes, please let your child’s class teacher or the school office know.

Our annual Sports Day is taking place on Tuesday 20th May.
The format will follow a ‘carousel’ style event whereby the children will pass through a range of sporting activities as well as competitive track races. The children will work collaboratively and competitively as a team and there will be a presentation at the end of the KS1 and KS2 events for the winning house. We hope you will enjoy spectating and cheering the children on! You may want to bring a picnic blanket or portable chairs to sit on.
The whole day will be held on St. Teresa’s School field and will run as follows:
Reception: 9:15am-10:15am
KS1: 10:45am-11:45am
KS2: 1:00pm-3:20pm
Parents can access the school field via the KS2 entrance.
Please ensure that your child comes to school in their full PE kit (including trainers) for Sports Day, brings a water bottle to school, and sun cream/sun hat if necessary. You will be informed via the school office if the event has to be cancelled due to bad weather. Please note that the KS2 pupils must return to their class after the event before they can be sent home. This is to ensure that all pupils are accounted for. We welcome your support with this.

Live Simply Award
We are thrilled to share some exciting news! On Tuesday 25th February, our school was assessed for the CAFOD Live Simply Award. This award recognises schools that take action to live simply, sustainably, and in solidarity with those living in poverty around the world. Over the course of a year, our school has worked hard to devise and implement an action plan that demonstrated our commitment to these values. We had to provide evidence of our initiatives, attend an interview and some of our pupils were also interviewed as part of the assessment process. We are delighted to announce that we have successfully completed the assessment!
Here is a quote from Dympna Edwards, CAFOD’s Live Simply assessor:
“It has been a pleasure to hear about your faith-inspired actions, demonstrating how you have been living simply, sustainably, and in solidarity with communities around the world living in poverty. This is a fantastic achievement, and we warmly congratulate you, your pupils, and your staff team.”
This achievement marks a significant milestone for our school, and we are incredibly proud of all the efforts put in by the whole school community. A special thank you goes to Mrs. Smalldon and Miss Stokes, whose passion and leadership have driven this project forward. We are beyond thrilled with this accomplishment and look forward to continuing our work towards living simply, sustainably and in solidarity with others.
