St Teresa's Catholic Primary School

Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to St. Teresa’s Catholic Primary School website. Whether you are a current or prospective parent, I hope that you will find the information on these pages useful and informative.

I am extremely proud to be the headteacher of St. Teresa’s Catholic Primary School, working alongside a hard-working, dedicated and committed staff and governing body.

St. Teresa’s is a caring and friendly school which has the Gospel values at its core. The Catholic ethos is palpable throughout the school as Christ is at the centre of everything we do. That is why our mission statement is woven into every aspect of school life: ‘Christ be in our heads, in our hearts and in our hands’. We are committed to promoting the strong relationship between home, school and Parish as we feel that this partnership is the key to producing the best possible Catholic education for your child.

It is an absolute privilege to be entrusted with your child’s education and at St. Teresa’s every pupil is precious to us. We know that each child is unique and special and therefore we ensure that our curriculum meets the needs of all our children and is carefully matched to their differing abilities. We identify children’s talents and strengths and we nurture and develop these either through the curriculum or our many extra – curricular activities.

We have high expectations of all our pupils both academically and in terms of behaviour. Our aim is to inspire and motivate our children to unlock their full potential. We encourage our pupils to think critically and to develop a growth mindset so that they view challenges as opportunities to learn.

Choosing the right school for your child is an extremely difficult decision, so we warmly welcome you and your child to visit our school and see us in action. We have an open day in October which will be advertised on this website or you can make an appointment to meet with me and I will gladly give you a tour of our school.
