School Worship and the Spiritual Life of the School
As a Roman Catholic Voluntary Aided co-educational Primary School, St. Teresa’s aims to give all its children an experience of a caring Christian community that will influence and shape their future lives. It is often commented that the School has a warm and inviting atmosphere. This is, we are sure, a result of the love, respect and care which staff and pupils show for one another as they try to truly live out the teachings of Jesus.
Each Class joins together in prayer throughout the School day and this is an important demonstration to all that the Catholic faith is at the centre of our School community.
Throughout the year each class takes turns to prepare assemblies to which they invite the whole school and their family.
Our school has close links with our church community and pupils have the opportunity to take part in special services. We are fortunate to have the Parish Priest, Fr. Ian McParland, as one of our regular visitors to school. Fr. Ian takes an active role in supporting the continuous development of the spiritual life within the school.
Each year, the children enthusiastically organise and take part in fund-raising activities within the School for others less fortunate than themselves. Throughout the year we raise money for lots of charities including: Nugent Care, the SVP, CAFOD and Macmillan Cancer Research.
